Emily Hsiu-Ching Chang is an American journalist, who is currently a Bloomberg TV anchor based in San Francisco. Chang hosts Bloomberg Technology, a daily show focused on technology and the future of business. She is the author of Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley, published in February, 2018.
Emily Chang is the San Francisco-based anchor and executive producer of “Bloomberg Technology,” Bloomberg Television’s weekday technology program airing at 5 pm ET / 2 pm PT from the network’s San Francisco studio. She is also the author of “Brotopia: Breaking Up the Boys’ Club of Silicon Valley,” published by Portfolio Books in February, 2018.
Currently, she sits on the board of BUILD, a national non-profit organization that uses entrepreneurship to excite and propel disengaged, low-income students through high school to college success.
She was a CNN correspondent based in Beijing, China from 2008 to 2010, prior to which she reported from CNN’s London bureau. Before joining CNN, she was an award-winning reporter for KNSD in San Diego and KHON-TV in Honolulu. She is also a LinkedIn Influencer and a member of the Lean In Community. On June 30, 2014, she launched a new interview series on Bloomberg Television, Studio 1.0.
Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, Chang graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University.
